Statement on data usage and security

At Abbey Polymers Ltd we take the protection of your privacy and your personal data very seriously. The new GDPR has now been effective since 25th May 2018 so we would like to communicate with you what data we hold about you and how we use it.

We hold some or all of the following data:

​

  • Name

  • job title

  • telephone number incl mobile phone number

  • data relating to your company (VAT number, company number, email address, company name, address, phone and fax details). 

  • we may also hold your company’s bank account details e.g. for any repayment of credit notes

 

We need this information in order to be able to trade with you, so we hold it for contractual reasons, which we regard to be a legitimate purpose according to the GDPR regulation.

This data has been collected either from you ordering products from us, or from contacting us for our advice or for quotations, from contact at trade fairs or other forums, or from your direct contact with our distribution and agency partner companies.

 

We take privacy seriously and will only use this data to administer your account and to provide details or information that you have requested. The data is stored securely within our Customer Management database which is held on a password-protected server in our internal network, and is also protected by updated security software and a firewall. This data is backed up regularly.

 

We will never sell your data to third parties. However, we may need to disclose your information to our distribution and agency partner companies (e.g. Kraiburg TPE or Vamp-Tech) so that they may, for example, make a delivery directly to you, or be able to give you information to assist in material selection for new or existing projects. In such cases your data would be stored by our Partner Companies in accordance with their privacy policies. Our partner companies are based in the EEA so are also bound by the GDPR.

We will need to share your information with our transport/logistic partners in order to effect deliveries to you. These companies are based in the EEA so therefore also bound by the GDPR.

 

To comply with the new GDPR regulations, if you are happy for us to continue to contact you by phone and email as we currently do, for quotations, orders, invoices, statements and new product enquiries, and also from time-to-time for Newsletters informing you of our latest product offerings, then you do not need to do anything.

With regard to the personal data that we hold, you have the right at any time to request details of it, its origin, as well as the purpose for which we are storing your data. For this please send your request in writing or by e-mail to our Data Protection Officer.

You also have the right to ask us to delete your data at any time. In the event that you wish to do so, please also contact our Data Protection Officer in writing.
