Abbey Polymers are passionate about supporting local community projects. Below you can check out some of the work we've been doing.

In the past (present & future ) we have supported some local organisations, namely Stafford Rangers Football Club, Staffordshire Wildlife Trust & an analemmatic sundial on Cannock Chase, which was actually a millennium project.

Abbey Polymers’ support for the preservation of Gun Moor nature reserve.

1st September 2020

Abbey Polymers were pleased to give their support to the preservation of Gun Moor a nature reserve, by making a financial contribution.

Staffordshire Wildlife Trust has until 26th March 2021 to raise the remaining funds which will protect the conservation & ecology of Gun Moor.

Gun Moor is probably Staffordshire’s most important site for bog asphodel and cranberry. Gun Moor also contains a really good number of red-listed bird species of conservation priority in the UK including, cuckoo, lesser redpoll (a particularly rare breeder in Staffordshire now), skylark, woodcock, linnet, grasshopper warbler, spotted flycatcher and tree pipit. In fact, it contains the majority of key upland species in just the one site as species like red grouse, stonechat, redstart, whitethroat, willow warbler & meadow pipit are also present.

Snipe have been recorded previously; to encourage them to breed, the habitat needs a bit of recovery through an appropriate grazing regime, something the Wildlife Trust intends to address. Mammals such as Red deer & brown hare can be seen sharing Gun Moor with all the other flora and fauna native to this area.

2019 / 2020 Season

5th June 2019

Abbey Polymers are proud to announce that we have agreed to sponsor the away shirts again for season 2019/2020 wishing the might rangers every success for the new season!

When Abbey Polymers heard about the Staffs Wildlife Trust “Walk on Water” appeal, they were keen to get involved, and made a financial contribution.

The original walkway, at the Trust’s headquarters at Wolseley Bridge near Stafford had become rotten and needed replacing.

The new walkway has been constructed using re-cycled plastic planks and once again, visitors can enjoy walking around the wetter areas of the Wolseley Bridge centre

Abbey Polymers were pleased to give their support to the Berkswich Millennium Sundial project.

Visitors to Broc Hill on Cannock Chase in Staffordshire can see the work of artist Ian Naylor, in an analemmatic sundial, which combines metalwork and stonework - a lasting reminder of the Millennium.
